Innovation - the RCS3000M
The Turn-up System family of the IBS Paper Performance Group has a new member - the RCS3000M. This latest generation of Turn-up systems provides, like the RCS2000 series, the safest, efficient and most economical method of sheet transfer to a new reel. The manually operated system can be activated via a push button at the control panel or by the customer's DCS system. The small profile of the RCS3000M track allows for installation in the most confined reel sections while maintaining a reliable and safe sheet transfer.

Sensational results in France
Papeteries des Chatelles, a French producer of writing, copy and printing paper, ordered the rebuild and optimization of its wire section from the IBS Paper Performance Group. Included in the scope of supply were dewatering elements as well as a partial renewal of the vacuum system (EVA). The rebuild by the IBS Paper Performance Group resulted in a quality increase of approximately 20 %. Production has increased from 130 to 150 tons per day and there was a remarkable reduction in pressbrakes. These excellent results will allow Papeteries des Chatelles to recoup the costs of their upgrades within a period of 4 months!

Improved Sheet Formation with the Varioline Plus System
Varioline Plus - The adaptable dewatering system designed to generate micro-turbulence in the forming section, which can be configured "on-the-run" according to specific machine conditions. The manually or automatically adjustable activity blades can be raised or lowered to create a change in the profile of the paper web, which in turn has an optimal influence on the stock activity and sheet formation process. The Varioline Plus system is strongly recommended for paper grades with a basis weight greater than 30g/mē and for machines with speeds up to 1100 m/min. It is particularly effective when used in conjunction with the fully-automatic IBS EVA vacuum control system.

Online temperature monitoring for ceramic drainage elements
Especially during start up of modern high speed paper machines ceramics are exposed to frequent and drastic temperature changes. Quite often these temperature shocks are more than the ceramic material can handle.
Now IBS offers a solution to this problem:
IBS is able to integrate temperature sensors immediately beneath the top ceramic surface. Thereby the machine operator is able to monitor any temperature changes inside the ceramics and apply certain measures, if the temperature approaches critical levels. Such a measure could be to switch on a shower for example. By doing this any damage of ceramics and clothings can be prevented.
