Doctor Blades

The correct choice of blade material is critical for problem-free operation of the paper machine and also for a high-quality end product.

When selecting blades, the following factors should be taken into consideration:
  1. Purpose for which doctor is to be used (cleaning, creping etc.)
  2. Position of doctor in machine (forming, press or dryer section)
  3. Material and hardness of roll cover
  4. Condition of roll surface
  5. Surface temperature
  6. Blade loading
  7. Corrosive influences of surroundings
