As a result of continuous development and intensive cooperation with tissue manufacturers over many years, James Ross has created an industry standard which is accepted and applied throughout the world.
The James Ross crepe doctor system is based on proven DST technology. James Ross has consequently succeeded in setting completely new standards in the crepe industry.

Mode of operation of the James Ross Crepe doctor
The main part of the Ross Crepe Doctor is the Ross Crepe blade holder which features independant pressure fingers to load the blade on the yankee. It provides uniform blade contact and pressure over the entire length of the blade.
The Ross Crepe blade holder can conform automatically to the heated surface of the Yankee cylinder during operation.
By using a series of special tube depressors, the contact pressure at both ends of the Ross Crepe blade holder can easily be varied to reduce loading outside of the sheet. The pressure fingers have slots which allow the holder to accomodade blades of various widths. As a result, the original blade can be re-ground up to 10 times providing the most cost effective use of each blade.

Advantages for the user:
By using the proven James Ross pressure finger technology, the set-up time of the blade holder is significantly reduced. Individual adjustment and re-adjustment using micro-screws on the heated Yankee cylinder is eliminated completely. In this way, the start-up time of the Yankee cylinder is reduced to an absolute minimum. The Ross Crepe system allows efficient blade changing and simple adjustment of the blade free height. Crepe parameters and creping angles can be varied quickly and easily.
The ability to adjust the blade loading at the ends of the blade minimises the risk of sparking and makes it possible to achieve uniform blade wear. The result is an increased useful life of the Yankee cylinder and doctor blades.
The James Ross Crepe blade holder can also easily be installed as an attachment to existing doctor backs. This allows older creping doctor systems to be upgraded to the present state of the art at a reasonable cost.
