Superflex Blade HoldersSystem advantages:

Mode of operation of Superflex blade holder:
The Superflex blade holder is a robust, stainless steel construction ideally suited for optimum roll cleaning and sheet shedding. The upper part consists of a pressure plate to which a row of pressure fingers is attached. The doctor blade is inserted between the pressure plate and the pressure fingers. The pressure fingers are pivoted on a rod attached to the doctor via the mounting bar and allow the doctor blade to conform to the roll contour. The adjustment of the blade loading is regulated by varying the pressure in the load tube located below the pressure fingers over the entire length. A second pneumatic tube to unload the blade is also located under the pressure fingers but is located on the other side of the pivot rod. Different pressure application in the load tube allows the blade contact pressure to be controlled. By releasing the pressure of the rear pressure tube, and pressurizing the front tube, the blade can be lifted off the roll to be changed. The blade contact pressure is controlled precisely by adjusting the pressure regulator on the control panel which is ideally mounted on the machine near the doctor.
Advantages:
As a result of the flexibility of the pressure plate and the tilting effect of the pressure fingers, the blade can conform exactly to the roll contour. This results in optimum roll cleaning and reliable sheet shedding.
Manual adjustment work on the doctor holder itself is completely eliminated, resulting in reduced doctor set-up time.
The uniform linear blade loading across the roll face that results from use of this holder allows effective doctoring at lower blade contact pressures. This protects roll covers and increases the useful life of the roll. "Bird mouth" formation at the doctor blade tip frequently caused by excessive blade contact pressure can be eliminated. This prevents dangerous "roll wraps" during paper breaks since the sheet is easily and reliably removed from the roll. The unique design ensures that the blade holder never comes in contact with the roll even if the blade is missing.
The SUPERFLEX blade holder can also be installed as an attachment to existing doctor backs and is a low-cost method of upgrading doctors to the latest technology.
Application:
Ideally a SUPERFLEX blade holder should be used in all doctor positions. It is absolutely essential to use on hard press rolls and suction roll doctors.
