General Overview - Fabric Guiding SystemsMaintaining a straight fabric run with minimum fabric oscillation means to:
- avoid fabric run off
- minimize fabric edge wear
- reach maximum fabric life
- reduce sheet breaks
- optimize paper productivity
Felt- & Wire-Guides are designed to keep the felt fabric running properly in the center of the roll over which it travels. Pivotin one end of the guide roll in the proper direction corrects the fabric run. This guiding movement is based upon the principle that the fabric will always leave the guide roll perpendicular to its rotational axis. This dictates that the fabric will always travel towards the end of the roll it encounters first.
The movement of the Felt-/Wire Guide is activated by a pneumatic CONTROL VALVE with a SENSOR PADDLE (following the edge of the fabric). The Control Valve controls the air volume within the air bellows of a PNEUMATIC BELLOW GUIDE or the chambers of a PNEUMATIC PISTON GUIDE.
The JUD System Solutions 'Sensor Paddle - Control Valve - Fabric Guide' are designed to reach excellent guiding results with the highest accuracy. Proven in hundreds of installations worldwide.
The FELT-/WIRE RUN-OFF ALARMS can add additional operational security by warning the operator when the guiding system or other rolls are out of alignment.
