Rossilator

The shower oscillation system from James Ross

System advantages:
  • Virtually maintenance-free operation
  • Simple operation, can be mounted in various positions
  • Simple and problem-free control - up to 18 Rossilators can be controlled by a single control panel
  • High degree of reliability
  • Thousands of installations world-wide
  • High-temperature design available
  • Longer fabric and felt lifetime
As a result of its reliability and simple installation, the Rossilator is used by leading paper manufacturers throughout the world.

The Rossilator consists of the following components:

Speed sensor:
This sensor is used to monitor the machine speed and is connected to a motor, cylinder or drive shaft. Alternatively, the speed sensor can be replaced with a system (DCS) generated signal.

Control:
The Rossilator can be controlled by PLC, programmable printed circuit card or DCS. The oscillation speed is directly linked to the machine speed by speed sensor or system signal. In addition to controlling the oscillation speed and stroke length, there is also an automatic fault control. The stroke length and speed are individually programmable. In the event of a problem or a stoppage of the machine, the water supply to the shower can be stopped by a solenoid valve, preventing any damage to the fabric or felt.

Oscillator (Rossilator):
The Rossilator is the "working part" of the James Ross oscillation system. The Rossilator consists of a water-tight cylindrical stainless steel housing containing an AC synchronous motor, home and motion sensors, an acme screw and follower. The linear movement of the oscillator is transferred to the shower using one of several possible connecting links.

Advantages:
As a result of the connection to the machine speed, a uniform cleaning pattern is achieved while minimizing water consumption.
As well as avoiding marking and uneven cleaning in the forming section, optimal conditioning of the felt and thus a uniform cross machine profile is achieved in the press section.
As a result of optimal cleaning, the fabric and felt lifetime is increased and the paper quality is improved.
