Application Engineer

IBS Papertech GmbH (a provider of machine vision systems for paper machines) and Kolibri GmbH (a startup specializing in AI-powered software solutions for industrial applications) operate a joint team dedicated to developing sensor, control, and monitoring systems for paper machines.

To support this team, we are looking for an Application Engineer to assist us in the development of these products. 

Your responsibilities:

• Assisting with development work
• Setup, calibration, and operation of sensors (primarily cameras)
• Collecting and evaluating data
• Creating image processing and AI models (including testing) and optimizing them
• Commissioning of sensor systems on paper machines, including remote maintenance
• Developing suggestions for improvement at every stage of the system chain

Your Profile – What We’re Looking For:

• interest in understanding complex technical systems/equipment in their entirety (in this case: paper
• machines). This includes: mechanics, image capture, sensor and analysis software, and much more.
• You have completed a relevant degree in process engineering, physics, mechanical engineering, electrical

engineering, or a similar field, or you are about to graduate. Alternatively, a completed BSc degree is also

acceptable if you’d like to enter the workforce immediately.

• You have strong communication skills (including interacting with customers).
• You are eager to learn and quick to grasp new concepts, and you have a professional demeanor
• Written and spoken English
• Willingness to travel (for commissioning projects)
