Saica Group relies on IBS reel change solutions

After more than 12 years of successful operation of a RCS 2000 reel change system, Saica is upgrading its PM6 to the most modern RCS 6000 reel change system from the IBS Paper Performance Group, the technology leader in paper machine optimization. The paper manufacturer is once again relying on the precision and reliability of IBS solutions to ensure the long-term efficiency of its production. With this project, Saica and IBS are strengthening their proven partnership: Eight RCS systems are already successfully in operation within the Saica Group.

RCS 6000 reel change systems provide a fully automatic sheet transfer to a new reel spool and set a new standard for a reliable and cost-effective turn-up. To achieve maximum reel change performance, IBS Paper Tapes and double-sided IBS adhesive tapes for reel change systems are also used. Folded IBS Paper Tapes are up to more than 50% thinner than conventional paper tapes made of strings. This significantly minimizes paper marks on the core of the reel spool, thereby ensuring a higher yield at the winder. Double-sided IBS Adhesive Tapes made of tear-resistant fabric ensure a reliable turn-up and can be removed from the reel spool without leaving any residue.
