Water consumption for cleaning forming fabrics 90% reduced with FabriCare

The IBS Paper Performance Group, technology leader in paper machine optimization, has successfully started up two FabriCare ultra-high-pressure cleaning systems at a customer site in Germany. Thanks to the FabriCare systems, water consumption for cleaning the forming fabrics on a gap former machine was reduced from 330 l/min to just 32 l/min - a significant reduction of more than 90%.

FabriCare cleaning systems guarantee perfect cleaning and consistent performance of machine clothings in the forming and drying section throughout their entire service life, while keeping operating costs to a minimum. In the wet end, the system not only minimizes water consumption but also significantly improves machine hygiene by preventing spray mist and the resulting deposits. Customers also benefit from reduced chemical consumption as well as significant energy savings achieved by eliminating or reducing the vacuum of suction boxes.

In addition to its application in the wet end, the IBS Paper Performance Group also offers FabriCare DryEnd, a specialized solution for drying fabrics. This system ensures consistent performance of the fabric throughout its entire service life and results in fewer web breaks, an optimized moisture cross-profile, and improved heat transfer. Another key advantage is the elimination of manual cleaning tasks: This not only reduces production downtime but also completely eliminates health risks for personnel caused by exposure to hot environments.
