Senior Applications Manager and Process Specialist

IBS of America Corporation, 3732 Profit Way, Chesapeake, VA 23323 seeks Senior Application Manager and Process Specialist to work onsite in Chesapeake, Virginia, and to travel approximately 60% of work time in the US and to Mexico, Canada and Austria. The job requires a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering and five years of engineering management experience. Other special skills and requirements: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheets. The duties of the job are divided into two areas:
 

1. Manage paper and pulp products and paper science and application engineering staff of two employees, both of whom are application and project engineers, to provide product and process support for clients in these areas:

• Manage the coordination and overall integration of technical activities in paper and pulp products and engineering projects
• Design, develop, innovate and implement programs and products to fit paper and pulp customer needs
• Direct, review and/or approve product and project design changes
• Create pulp and paper customer proposals considering products, engineering studies, process modeling and technical calculations
• Generate, deliver and present sales proposals to customers in a timely manner
• Consult or negotiate with pulp and paper customers to prepare product and project specifications
• Provide technical support and expertise to pulp and paper customers
• Follow up on submitted proposals and potential projects, quotes and technical services
• Provide application and design work for IBS’ iTable and other paper and pulp products and projects
• Manage project start-up, on-site optimization of purchased equipment and process improvements
• Coordinate and allocate application of department resources to meet budgets
• Collaborate with sales, design engineering, project management, manufacturing and installation teams, both in the US and Austria
• Provide training for upcoming application engineers and direct evaluation of staff
   

2. Coach and mentor sales representatives in paper and pulp technology and paper science and engineering

• Educate sales representatives in evaluating paper and pulp customer needs and building long-term working and business relationships
• Confer with sales and marketing staff to discuss project specification and procedures
• Assist in generating customer interest in all IBS paper performance group products through technical improvement approach
• Improve sales representatives’ and customers’ product knowledge
• Develop and maintain customer relationships f. Monitor competition’s presence and pricing to help ensure competitiveness
